A student inquired: "Did Beorn, from the Hobbit book, have a last name?"
J.R.R. Tolkien never told us the full name of Beorn. But Beorn also was mentioned in a play by one famous 16th century English dramatist, whose name eludes me at the moment. In the play, the characters muse whether they should pay him a visit or not: "To Beorn Otto Bee? That is the question."
So there you have it. His full name was Beorn Otto Bee.
As far as I know, oddly, the play did not involve bear costumes. Neither did the dramatist in question pay royalties to the Tolkien Estate.
